Day 64. Gorgeous Gingham

Stylist Magazine's Helen Atkin describes this year's big trend like this..

'Gingham is one of those nostalgic prints that makes you think of summers spent running in the sunshine when you were little - carefree, dressed by your parents and probably a little bit sunburnt (I’m ignoring the connotations of slightly chintzy Italian restaurants here).'

It's so true, it really has a nostalgic feel to it no matter what you think of it!

I was immediately drawn to the classic and elegant nature of this style of print when choosing a co-ordinate print to work along the main designs in my new collection. The geometric checks in matching colourways works brilliantly and I can't think of another design (other than maybe, stripes) that would be suitable. The gingham is hand-drawn to be wavy and soft and give an innovative and different take on a retro design for 2020.
